Founded in 1939, the WVU P.I. Reed School of Journalism has one of the oldest and finest journalism programs in the nation. The School is deeply rooted in tradition, but our innovative, student-centered curriculum and state-of-the-art equipment prepare students to be 21st century communicators.

Preparing Students for the Future
Journalism students learn by doing, using state-of-the-art equipment and media technology, such as Adobe Photoshop, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Adobe InDesign. Students also have access to digital video and still cameras, a cutting-edge multimedia facility and a professional television studio.
Multimedia student projects and real-world internships provide our broadcast, print, advertising and public relations students with the cross-discipline, hands-on experience that employers are seeking in new hires.
Our integrated curriculum, emphasis on real-world opportunities and dedicated faculty and alumni help our graduates find rewarding careers in their areas of interest. In fact, 98% of students who graduate from the WVU Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism find jobs in their fields or enroll in graduate school within a year.
