Natalie Eddy serves as External Relations Writer/Editor and as an adjunct faculty member for West Virginia University’s P.I. Reed School of Journalism. She writes press releases about news within the School of Journalism and assists with event planning and promotion, marketing and communications.

Since 2004, she has taught beginning and advanced news editorial classes, including journalism orientation, media writing and reporting for print media.
Eddy is a veteran writer with more than 25 years of professional experience – four years in public relations and marketing, 15 in technical and environmental writing and six in newspaper reporting.

She previously worked as a public relations specialist at WVU News and Information Services and the WVU Marketing Group, promoting Ruby Memorial Hospital. She also wrote for two internationally circulated magazines produced at WVU, specializing in environmental issues. Her articles have been reprinted in numerous publications. Prior to coming to WVU, Eddy served as a reporter, editor and photographer for the Daily Courier, Connellsville, Pa., and the Uniontown, Pa., Herald-Standard, covering everything from governmental meetings to murder trials.

Eddy earned a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from WVU’s School of Journalism, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1996. She has received numerous writing awards throughout her career as a journalist. In addition, she has participated in several journalism-coaching workshops and writing conferences. She is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Society of Environmental Journalists.
