Kimberly Walker serves as the Senior Communications Strategist at WVU’s Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism. She determines and oversees the implementation of the School’s overall strategic marketing and communications plan, developing strategy in support of brand identity, alumni and donor engagement, and student recruitment and retention. Walker works directly with the School’s dean and executive team to enhance the School’s reputation on a regional and national level.
Walker previously served as the School’s Director of Communications and maintains oversight of the School’s integrated marketing activities, major event planning and alumni and donor communications.
A native of Fairmont, W.Va., Walker received her bachelor’s degree in secondary English education from WVU’s College of Human Resources and Education. She later completed her master’s degree in instructional design and technology education at WVU.
After teaching public school in West Virginia and North Carolina and then working for both the corporate and government agencies, Walker returned to WVU, joining the School of Journalism staff in July 2006.
