Harley Cochran
Harley Cochran is a first-year graduate student studying journalism at West Virginia University. She attended Greater Latrobe Senior High School, where she was introduced to her love of broadcasting and journalism, starting as early as her freshman year.
As a part of WCAT-TV, she gained experience reporting, producing, and editing news content. Harley was also the Editor-in-Chief of her high school’s student newspaper, The High Post, where she published numerous print newspapers on behalf of the student body. During her senior year, she worked as a production assistant for The Wildcats Network.
While at WVU, she works for U92 as their Station Manager, where she manages all administrative needs of the station and ensures that daily operations run smoothly. Harley also works for WVU Athletics video and ESPN+, where she is trained in multiple roles such as technical director, replay operator, camera operator, and other control room-based jobs. She has a cumulative 4.0 GPA and has made the president’s list for the past 7 semesters. She has previously produced all three of Reed College’s television broadcast capstones: WVU News, Mountaineer Playbook, and West Virginia Today. She is also currently interning at WJAC to gain more industry experience as a producer. After graduation, she aspires to become a producer for a news station.
Fun Fact: My middle name is Morgan because I am named after Morgantown, WV.
