Alison Smallwood

Alison Smallwood is a senior at West Virginia University majoring in Sports Media with minors in
Leadership Studies, Marketing, and General Business. Originally from Ashburn, VA, Alison has
spent the past three years on WVU’s Competitive Cheer Team, serving as Social Media Chair
and managing all aspects of the team’s online presence.

In addition, she has worked on the ESPN+ and WVU Video Board crews for three years,
gaining hands-on experience with camera operations, audio, and control room production while
covering numerous WVU athletic events. Alison also completed an internship with West Virginia
MetroNews Radio Network, further expanding her media skills.

Beyond athletics and media, Alison has been actively involved in WVU’s Kappa Kappa Gamma
sorority and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). She has a strong passion for
photography and videography, combining her creative interests with her professional
experience.

Alison will graduate in December 2025 and plans to pursue a master’s degree in Marketing AI to
continue building her expertise at the intersection of media, marketing, and technology. 

Fun Fact: I spent 4 months studying abroad in Florence, Italy, and visited over 6 country’s and countless cities along the way!
