Jessica Riley

Jessica Riley is a second graduate journalism student at West Virginia University. She received a bachelors of science in journalism with a concentration in print media as well as a double minor in strategic social media and criminology in the spring of 2025. She is set to finish her college career with her masters in Spring 2026. 

Originally from the small town Windham, OH, Jessica has always been interested in providing in depth information and stories to her community. She aims to go into investigative journalism and recently had her first investigative story published through 100 Days in Appalachia, who she also interns with. Outside of her academic and professional career, Jessica has been involved in several organizations throughout her time at WVU. These include various roles in PRSSA such as vice president and president, president of Her Campus and secretary of Society of Professional Journalists. 

Jessica is interested in all things media and has produced several projects or held different roles across different areas such as public relations, marketing and data. Currently, she is working with both Reporting on Addiction and Muckrock to produce data driven stories. She aims to use these experiences to enhance her journalism skills throughout her career.

Fun Fact: I am a huge history buff - I love learning about different time periods and events and seeing how they affect the present time.
