Andrew Fried

Andrew Fried, from Long Island, NY, is a senior at West Virginia University majoring in Sports and Adventure Media with a minor in Communications and will be graduating in the spring of 2025.

In high school, Andrew found his love for broadcasting in his school’s program. Here, he had the opportunity to become a main anchor for all four years of high school, telling local stories and being a student producer for the news show. 

After high school, country roads took Andrew home, where he has continued his education in this field. While he worked as a camera operator for WVU athletic video and interned for NBCUniversal at the Olympics in Paris, Andrew took the most pride in his role as the Adventure Anchor for Mountaineer Playbook. Being able to tell the community stories in this form straightened his passion for this business and after graduation, he plans to continue in the professional world of reporting and anchoring!
