Fall 2019 Sports Blog #4

|

Filming my last package: This newscast, I focused my story on international athletes and how they face challenges beyond the field. I was able to interview members of both the WVU Men’s and Women’s Soccer team as well as the WVU Rifle team. I enjoyed my time learning about their experiences and what drove them to play a sport in a different country. On top of that, it was awesome to learn how each of them have found a way to make themselves a part of the Mountaineer family.

My story for Show #5:For the next newscast, I plan on attending the WVU Women’s Volleyball game as they take on TCU at home for Luau Night. For the story, I want to see how the event brought the community to the game and also how they were able to interact with the team. Also, Coach Sunahara is a native of Hilo, Hawaii which will make it interesting to learn who planned the event. I am excited to see how the game goes and how the crowd shows out!

How Newscast #4 Went:
Newscast four went rather well and I think all of the takes we took could have aired. I was proud of how I read and it was awesome to get to show some potential students how a newscast goes. Also, a local 5th grade class was able to attend the show and we got to take some pictures with them afterwards!
